UPDATE 24th MAY 2020

We are continually reviewing the current information with regard to the Covid-19 situation and closely following recommendations from the Government which can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus

In regard to the current situation and following the most recent advice from the Register of Musculoskeletal Therapists (RAMP) we are now able to carry out treatment for those animals with demonstrable pain or those with an urgent musculoskeletal need. Please see RAMP guidelines here https://www.facebook.com/RAMPreg/posts/2539779356284372?__tn__=K-R http://www.rampregister.org/for-owners/

This is not a return to normal or routine appointments yet. We will be contacting all clients that are already booked in to review your animals status at this time.

We have had to adapt our current working guidelines to adhere to the up to date Government advice and advice from RAMP. This will include the following;

  • Only animals with demonstrable pain or welfare issues can be seen with veterinary consent to do so. This may include all conditions.
  • A pre-risk assessment and telephone call are essential.
  • No appointments can be made with anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or anyone who has been in contact with someone who has symptoms. Anyone that has must self-isolate for 14 days before an appointment can be made. PPE may be appropriate.
  • If the practitioner or client has any symptoms do not treat. Recommended self-isolate for 7 days, get tested and await a clear result before seeing anyone.
  • Animals whose owners fall into the high risk category will not be able to be seen in the standard way. A telephone call is essential and it maybe possible to treat remotely.
  • Where possible animals will be seen in a clinic setting at my yard especially small animals as cleanliness, disinfecting and biosecurity is easier to control.
  • Where a yard visit is necessary – individual set ups will be assessed. Please leave gates open. No loose dogs/cats who potentially can transmit the virus. Please have your horses waiting with headcollar on. Please provide a bucket of water to enable hand washing before and after individual treatments. I will also require water to disinfect my equipment after treatment.
  • At my yard the stable and all equipment used will be disinfected after each client.
  • To maintain social distancing please stay out of the stable while treatment is taking place. In some cases the horse will need to be held during treatment so please bring a long lunge line so you can hold your horse while maintaining social distancing (over 2m).
  • I will be treating regular clients, in regard to new clients I will closely liase with the vet.
  • Payment via BACS/paypal only.

Thank you for bearing with us during this difficult time.

Looking forward to seeing you and your animals very soon!
